Health Impact Assessment (HIA) Laws

About this dataset:

As defined in 2011 by the National Research Council of the National Academies, an “HIA [health impact assessment] is a systematic process that uses an array of data sources and analytic methods and considers input from stakeholders to determine the potential effects of a proposed policy, plan, program, or project on the health of a population and the distribution of those effects within the population. HIA provides recommendations on monitoring and managing those effects.

This is a longitudinal dataset displaying all HIA laws enacted or amended between January 1, 2012 and December 1, 2016. HIA laws were not included if they were enacted prior to January 1, 2012 and have not been amended following that date.
